Bangladesh's government instituted a seven-day complete lockdown on Saturday in an attempt to avoid the spread of coronavirus in the region. The government has given an order that the lockout will begin on Monday. Obaidul Quader, the Minister of Public Transport and Bridges, made the announcement.
The decision was made as the number of regular infections and deaths caused by the virus began to rise sharply in recent days. The factories and industrial areas will stay open throughout the lockout, according to State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, with minimal staff in separate shifts maintaining hygiene laws. The ambulance services, on the other hand, would be exempt from the lockdown. Bangladesh has recorded 6,830 new cases in the last 24 hours, up to 8 a.m. on Friday, with an unprecedented single-day infection rate of 23.28 percent. The overall number of population in the world is now 6,24,594.
